Liana’s identity focuses on her Italian birth name ‘Volpe’ with its origins meaning’ fox’. Her sculptures are influenced from her expressive drawings and her experience in the fashion world.
As an artist Liana is constantly experimenting in mixing glazes and kiln temperatures to create a unique look. Many of her beautiful clay sculptures are created from clay dug from the area of Cootharaba where she lives . Her passion for art stems back to the 1970’s when her love for drawing and illustrating lead to a Diploma in Fashion Design. When moving to Noosa in 1995 Liana decided to pursue her dream and has since gained a Diploma in Fine Arts, Ceramics and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Graphic Design.
